My wife, Carolyn Woodruff a family lawyer in NC, and I sponsor a summer dance camp for the Boys and Girls Club of Greensboro, NC in conjunction with the Greensboro Fred Astaire dance studio.  This year we had over 50 under-privileged elementary school age children attend camp to learn different styles of dance, proper nutrition, focus, and a hip-hop dance routine to perform on National Dance Day.  They are called the Captain Green Eyes Dance Troupe named after the main character in the children’s Christmas book titled The Seven Nights of Santa authored by Carolyn and me.

National Dance Day was created by the producers of the television show “So You Think You Can Dance”.  National Dance Day was July 26th, last Saturday, and we hired Comfort, the “So You Think You Can Dance” all-star hip-hop dancer, to perform with the kids.  The event was covered by two local television stations plus our own video team.  We submitted our video to “So You Think You Can Dance” and hope to see the troupe on the next episode of the show, which is this Wednesday at 8:00 pm EDT on Fox.  See the local news coverage here, it’s awesome.   AND!bo2hof
